Free Drawing Tools

These tools create objects that can be individually styled and adjusted.

Tip: To snap to a SketchUpModel, either Ctrl-click on the model first or pre-select it before activating any drawing tool.

1. Line Tool

  • Usage: Click to select points. Use arrow keys (up/down) to adjust fillet radius. Type to define length in the VCB.

  • Adjustable Properties:

    • Stroke color

    • Stroke width

    • Fill color

    • Line weight

    • Line dash pattern

    • Start arrow style

    • End arrow style

2. Rectangle Tool

  • Usage: Click-Click or Click-Hold-Release to define diagonal points. Use arrow keys (up/down) to adjust corner radius. Type to define deltaX and deltaY in the VCB.

  • Adjustable Properties:

    • Stroke color

    • Stroke width

    • Fill color

    • Line weight

    • Line dash pattern

3. Circle Tool

  • Usage: Click-Click or Click-Hold-Release to define center and radius. Type to define radius length in the VCB.

  • Adjustable Properties:

    • Stroke color

    • Stroke width

    • Fill color

    • Line weight

    • Line dash pattern

4. Polygon Tool

  • Usage: Click-Click or Click-Hold-Release to define center and radius. Use arrow keys (up/down) to set number of sides. Type to define radius length in the VCB.

  • Adjustable Properties:

    • Stroke color

    • Stroke width

    • Fill color

    • Line weight

    • Line dash pattern

5. Textbox Tool

  • Usage: Click-Click or Click-Hold-Release to define textbox area. Use arrow keys (up/down) to adjust corner radius. Then type content.

  • Adjustable Properties:

    • Stroke color

    • Stroke width

    • Fill color

    • Line weight

    • Line dash pattern

    • Text styling (via context toolbar)

6. Bubble Tool

  • Usage: Click to place the bubble.

  • Adjustable Properties: Customize styles from the context toolbar

Document Drawing Tools

These tools create objects that follow document-wide preset styles. When settings change, all objects of that type update throughout the document, ensuring consistent styling.

Tip: To snap to a SketchUpModel, either Ctrl-click on the model first or pre-select it before activating any drawing tool.

1. Dimension Tool

  • Usage: Define direction, then add/remove points along that direction.

  • Features:

    • Toggle total dimensions

    • Reverse direction

    • Adjust offset length from target

    • Edit via EditControl when dimension is selected

2. Leader Tool

  • Usage: Click-Click or Click-Hold-Release to define start point (pointer) and end point (root), then input text.

  • Features:

    • Adjust start/end points using controls

    • Modify text box width

    • Double-click text to edit content

Insert SketchUpModel Viewport

Click on "Insert Model View" in the top toolbar, then select a scale.

Context Toolbar

Right-click on the canvas to display the context toolbar. Content varies based on your current activity and selection.

Key Features:

  1. Clipping Masks: Select a SketchUpModel and a shape to create a clipping mask

  2. Bubble Styles:

    • Various shapes

    • Crosshair toggle

    • Double frame option

    • FigA (adds ordered text when copied)

    • Balanced text alignment

  3. Text Formatting: Enhanced list styles and text controls

Currently supports PDF export. Additional formats are under development.
